Conditions of booking
NOTE: FISHING IS NOT ALLOWED FROM ANY OF OUR HIRE VESSELS. OUR VESSELS ARE NON SMOKING.
Deposit and payment
A 50% deposit is required to confirm a booking, payable by direct deposit into our nominated bank account. Once your deposit payment is received the vessel(s) will be reserved exclusively for you at your preferred date and time. Full payment (or any outstanding balance payment) must be made prior to the hire event by direct deposit into our nominated bank account, EFTPOS or cash. By paying the deposit you agree to these conditions of booking.
Cancellations from our side: Water, boats and weather add up to a potentially dangerous situation. Malu Os Eco Boat Hire Noosa Pty Ltd cannot be held responsible for unforeseen events that may result in the cancellation of your booking. This includes dangerous/unsafe weather conditions (or forecast) or unforeseen failure of / or damage to our hire vessels that may occur prior to your hire event. If Malu Os staff determines that the conditions (or forecast) on the local waterway at the moment of hire are dangerous /unsafe for our hire boats, a rescheduled booking will be provided at no charge. Local conditions are to be assessed and determined by Malu Os staff at the actual time of hire.
Cancellations from your side: If you cancel your booking one week or more prior to the hire date, your deposit or payment will be refunded minus a $25 admin charge. If you cancel your booking less than one week prior to the hire date, payment for the hire in full will be required and no refund will be provided.
You can reschedule your booking to an alternative date (subject to availability) at no charge up to 3 days prior to the hire event. You may only reschedule a maximum of two times. Rescheduling within 3 days prior to the hire event will attract a $50 rescheduling fee. This includes if you wish to reschedule because you don’t like the weather on the day of the hire event. Please note: rain, wind or cool temperatures are not ‘unsafe conditions’ on their own. No refunds or free reschedules will be given for bad weather, unless the conditions on (or forecast for) the local waterway are deemed to be unsafe for our hire boats, to be determined by Eco Boats staff at the actual moment of hire.
Hire vessels, capacity and safety gear
We will endeavour to allocate the vessel of your choice, however this is at the discretion of Malu Os staff. In case of unforeseen (technical) issues you may be allocated another vessel. The capacity of our vessels, Duffy 16’ electric boats is 8 adults or max 600kg. The capacity must be adhered to, as these are imposed by ASMA. We cannot allow the capacity to be exceeded. Life vests (PFD’s) are available for all occupants. Children’s sized life vests available upon request.
Conditions of hire and Bond
The skipper(s) is / are required to be at least 21 years of age and should bring photo ID and mobile phone on the day of hire. On the day of hire you will be requested to fill in and sign our ‘register of hirers’ which contains the conditions relating to the hire event itself, a ‘warning of risk’ and insurance. A $200 bond is applicable per hire vessel which may be paid in cash or by filling out your credit card details on the bond form. The skipper(s) of the vessel(s) need to arrive no later than 10 minutes prior to the hire time to attend a short on water familiarisation session with Malu Os staff. This covers mainly operational, safety and emergency aspects. Late arrival may eat into actual rental time.
